In Pasadena, TX, in 2004, José Luís Robles (lead vocals, accordion) and his brother Arturo Robles (drums) came together to form ALIANZA. In 2005 Univision Networks top rated variety show, Sábado Gigante held talent searches in Dallas, Houston, Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, Orlando and many other Cities across America to discover youth between the ages of 18-25 talented enough to compete in the highly anticipated segment Gigantes del Mañana Regional Mexicano.
ALIANZA entered the contest and sent their demo which included the song Muy Cerquita De Mi Vida to Esterio Latino 102.9 in Houston TX. After several preliminary battles with other bands and soloists at the local and state level, ALIANZA and fifteen other contestants from across the country made the cut to face celebrity judges in their quest to take home the $15K grand prize and a coveted recording contract with Univision Music Group. In the first three months of competition, judges Marco Flavio Cruz, Raúl Brindis, Piolin Sotelo, Jenny Rivera, Flor Ivón Quezada, Ángel Basulto, Yuri, and others selected six contestants who would advance to the most exciting, sensational phase of the contest: the fourth and final month of competition, when they would battle for the Future Star title.
ALIANZA was eliminated in the first round however; Hispanic America had a chance to save one band or soloist from among those who were eliminated by the judges. By logging on to www.univision.com, visitors voted for El Gigante de la Gente, and ALIANZA was the comeback contestants who were given the opportunity to compete again after gathering the greatest amount of online votes.
Overall, ALIANZA made it to the semi-finals and placed 3rd in the competition. Millions of viewers watched ALIANZA as they battled the most talented Hispanic youth in the United States for the title of Gigante Del Mañana.
Over the next two years the group took on a new member, José Luís Escobar (percussions). Their exposure on Sabado Gigante turned over a new page in ALIANZAs young career. In 2009, ALIANZA added Roberto Robles (bass) and Temo Pérez (Bajo Sexto) and began recording their first production Hasta Una Eternidad at Grammy-Award Winning studio, Urbana Recording Studio, in Houston TX. ALIANZA began creating a new sound, something distinct that would stand out in the norteño genre and would appeal to all ages. The first release on their label, Premier Music Group, Hasta Una Eternidad was released in 2010.
